Plastik sandalyeler öncelikle hangi materyal ile üretileceği kararı alınır. Bilgisayar ortamında tasarımı yapılan sandalye için metal kalıplar el işçiliği ya da cnc makineleri ile oyulur ve kalıp haline getirilir. Üretilen bu kalıp içerisine plastik polimer tozu enjekte edilir ve ideal erime noktasına kadar ısıtılır. Kalıp içerisinde eriyen plastiğin kalıp içerisine eşit bir şekilde dağılması için üç eksenli olarak döndürülür. Birkaç dakikadan meydana gelen bu süreç sonrasında kalıp soğutulur ve içerisine toz olarak giren plastik yeni bir sandalye olarak dışarıya çıkar. Bu şekilde üretilen plastik içi boş ve daha hafif olacaktır.
Enjeksiyon Kalıplama Tekniği İle Plastik Sandalye Üretimi
Enjeksiyon kalıplama yöntemi farklı bir plastik üretim şeklidir. Yukarıda anlattığımız gibi metal kalıplar kullanılır. Bu yöntemde kalıp içerine plastik toz olarak değil daha önceden ısıtılmış ve sıcak olarak kalıba dökülür. Bu yöntem bir öncekine göre daha fazla hassasiyet gerektirir. İdeal sürede ve sıcaklıkta yapılmalıdır. Fazla hız yada fazla yavaş yapılacak enjeksiyon ürün kalitesini kötü yönde etkileyecektir. Gerekli şartlar yerine getirilir ve doğru yapıldığı zaman tek parça ve sağlam bir plastik sandalye üretilmiş olacaktır.
Sandalye yapımı sırasında birçok farklı plastik türü kullanılarak imal edilir.
